Driving Test

Driving test applicants must be at least 16 years of age by the time of their test appointment.

TPST Driving Test

Third Party Skills Testing (TPST) locations are driving schools authorized by the TX DPS to administer the driving test. These locations will have shorter wait times.

DPS Driving Test

Taking the driving test with DPS will require you to make an appointment at least 60 days in advance. If you are in a rush to get your license you can get it done faster by going the TPST route.

Look on the back of your driving permit to see when your six months is over. You are allowed to test anytime after this date.

This certificate is issued by DrivingQuest if you completed our parent taught course. If you completed your 14 hours of behind-the-wheel training with a driving school then you would obtain it through the driving school.
